MBABANE – An impounded goods auction by ERS raked in more than E550 000.

By instruction of the Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS), Swazi Auctioneers (Pty) Ltd yesterday sold large quantities of gym equipment, clothes, shoes and a number of other items. The said items were viewed on March 20, 2023, at Plot 502, ERS State Warehouse, next to Mcsteel Eswatini, Matsapha. The auctioned items include bales of used clothes, gym equipment, salon equipment, educational toys, bales of shoes, scaling equipment and more.

Bidders

There were over 100 bidders at the auction and the auctioneer, Sakhile Ndzimandze, began proceedings at around 11:30am. The first Lots to be auctioned were the bales of shoes, which were among the favourites. These were sold at an average of E5 000 per Lot, each Lot had 20 sacks filled with the shoes. Ndzimandze instructed bidders to collect the items before March 24, 2023 to avoid challenges which may occur. A five per cent buyer’s premium was also included. “The registration process requires the buyer’s details like a phone number, address, and identification such as a passport or driver’s licence number. Each registered bidder was given a bidder card with a number that was used to identify them,” said Ndzimandze.
