Tour Nebraska Brings 460 Classic Cars Through Plymouth on Saturday Morning

PLYMOUTH, Neb — Residents of Plymouth were treated to the roar of engines and a flash of chrome Saturday morning as 460 classic and custom vehicles rolled into town for a breakfast stop during the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association’s 32nd annual Tour Nebraska.
The event featured only vehicles that are at least 30 years old, with an emphasis on American-made models. Imports were few and far between as the tour brought an impressive display of restored hot rods, muscle cars, and vintage cruisers.
The two-day tour covers a total of 500 miles, with drivers logging 300 miles on Saturday and 200 on Sunday. Saturday’s route included stops in York, Utica, Cordova, Friend, Plymouth, Beatrice, Virginia, Tecumseh, Syracuse, South Bend, Ashland, Ceresco, Wahoo, and Seward before returning to York. Sunday’s route was set to include Albion, Plain View, Wayne, and a lunch stop in Howells.
The Nebraska Rod and Custom Association, a nonprofit since 1992, has about 1,900 members and uses the annual tour to advocate for the rights of car enthusiasts, monitor legislation that could affect classic vehicle owners, and support young mechanics. The group awards $2,000 scholarships to students pursuing automotive repair, with 12 recipients this year and last.
