Charlie Sheen has recently major announcement about his upcoming memoir, The Book Of Sheen.
Published by Gallery Books, Charlie’s book will hit the bookshelves on September 9 and is now available for preorder, confirmed PEOPLE.
Charlie, who is known for his breakout role in Platoon, shared deeply personal recollections about his Hollywood upbringing, addiction, and relationships.
The Wall Street actor also included moments from his youth making home movies with longtime friend Sean Penn and navigating the industry as the son of actor Martin Sheen.
“My stories have been told for far too long through the eyes and pens of others,” said the 59-year-old in a press statement.
Charlie mentioned, “I think you'll agree, it's time to finally read these stories directly from the actual guy.”
In addition to his onscreen career, the Two and a Half Men actor also reflected on “coping with the chaos of divorces and drugs” per a statement shared with PEOPLE.
“Of all the Hollywood bad boys in history, Charlie might be the baddest of them all,” stated Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher Jennifer Bergstrom, in a statement.
She continued, “Now nearly eight years sober, Charlie writes candidly of every detox, retox, drug deal and adventure along his challenging journey to freedom.”
Calling the memoir ‘heartfelt and hilarious” at the same time, Jennifer added, “We are so proud to share his story. His talent as an actor is now matched as a writer on every page.”
