KARACHI: Pakistan Navy recorded a landslide victory in the third edition of National Air Gun Shooting Championship which concluded here at the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range on Sunday.
Pakistan Navy shooters accumulated a tally of 15 medals in the three-day championship to comfortably win the title ahead of second-placed Pakistan Army. Navy made a clean sweep of all eight gold medals and also won three silver and four bronze medals. Pakistan Army finished with a haul of nine medals which included five silver and four bronze medals.
Pakistan Navy’s female shooters Mehwish and Fatima broke national records during the championship.Commodore Ghazanfar Abbas, Vice President of National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) and Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Also present at the occasion was Commander Karamat of the Pakistan Navy Shooting Range.
